Ask Emily - College Kids Think:

This is the last addition to the DRUNKS issue of AB Resource.

We covered the richest CEOs in the alcohol business, our favorite drinking songs, the latest pharmacuetical attempt at treating alcoholism, and some other interesting ideas about one of the strongest forces in our eceonomy that we keep in business despite its dangers.

Will the drinking tradition continue the way it has despite so many health risks?

I Ask Emily - Our friend at Syracuse University, how young adults on the verge of professional and family life, think of drinking and smoking weed:

Emily:
I definitely think college students drink and smoke more. During college, kids are away from their parents and can afford to make decisions such as drinking and smoking without thinking about consequences related to their parents. Their parents aren't physically there to tell them not to drink or smoke. Even if the parents are against drinking and smoking they aren't there to monitor them. Also, alcohol is very abundant on college campuses. Go to a frat party, and they start serving beer or jungle juice. As for weed, college is the place to experiment. There is also a lot of peer pressure to smoke and drink in the college environment.

Which is used more?
I'd say alcohol. Alcohol is legal, unlike weed. I've only known a handful of people who don't drink and even those eventually succumb to drinking.
